What is VidToDisk?
VidToDisk is a freeware program by Komawi Development with which you can save (download)
and convert YouTube videos, just by watching it, to the following formats:
- DivX (.avi)
- Windows Media Video (.wmv)
- Wave audio (.wav)
- MP3 (.mp3)

How it works
- Make sure VidToDisk is running (can be minimized).
- Watch a video on YouTube as you normally do.
- VidToDisk will add the video to a list as soon as it is fully loaded (progressbar under the video on YouTube
is full).
- VidToDisk converts all videos in the list.
- After the conversion, the file is on your computer. It is that easy!
You are in control
Even if you like to determine when your computer is doing what, VidToDisk is the
program for you. You can decide yourself if VidToDisk:
- starts up automatically at login,
- automatically starts seeking not converted videos after VidToDisk is started,
- must add currently watched videos to the conversion list,
- must convert immediately or when you want.

VidToDisk can be minimized to a taskbar icon next to your clock. This way VidToDisk
will bother you the least possible.

Also, you can use VidToDisk to generate a playlist which can be played by Windows
MediaPlayer, just by a single click on a button.
Extra tips for use
You don't need to actually play or watch the video on YouTube. You can pause the
video on YouTube and leave it like that. Then you can open another browser window
and simultaneously load another video. You can do this with several videos at a
time. This way you really get to download a lot of videos in a short time.

You can collapse all but the lowest panel in VidToDisk. The next time VidToDisk
starts up, it will be on the same location and in the same state as you left it.
As soon as you fully configured everyting on a panel, collapse that panel by clicking
the button in the upper left corner of the panel. |
By default VidToDisk is configured correctly for use with Internet Explorer version
5 and above, but with the click of one button, VidToDisk can be configured for use with Firefox 3.0.
